Seafood Is In My Blood
For as long as I can remember I have been around the seafood industry. My grandfather built the Pacific Pearl empire under Ivar Wendt Inc. My father and uncles worked for my grandfather and then went out on their own working in the seafood industry. My uncle John started a trading company which he eventually built into Seatech Corporation. My father worked for a few different seafood distributors around the Seattle area, owned a fish market / fish bar Queen Anne Seafoods and then worked for Safeway before retiring. My father and uncles also ran a labeling company that labeled a great deal of canned seafood out of Alaska. I spent many hours at all these different businesses , worked for a Dungness crab plant and as a commercial fisherman in Alaska.
While attending Western Washington University I spent a semester interning for State Senator Cantu and upon graduation worked as a session aide for Senator Long. Eventually the draw of the sea brought me back to work for my uncle John at Seatech.
